The Gerudo Empire

Main Page

A land of endless sands and cruelty, Hyrule has changed greatly under Ganondorf’s rule. The Gerudo Desert covers more land every day, and the lawlessness of the sand-pirates dominates.

-Ganondorf has proclaimed himself the avatar of Din, the goddess of power, as evidenced by the Triforce of Power. Claiming that he is her divine will embodied, he has set himself up as a god-king, only under her two aspects, the Warrior and the Seductress. He preaches that she is the greatest goddess and the only one worth worshiping, outlawing the worship of any other.
-Zora Domain to the North is slowly crumbling into a sea haunted by the ravenous Jabu-Jabu.
-Hyrule Town is now a city of the dead, ruled by Ganondorf and his “priesthood.” None enter save his agents.
-Kokiri forests to the south east have become barbaric swamplands ruled by the Deku tribe.
-Death Mountain to the east has gone cold, and is barred to all non-Gorons.
-Kakariko village, at the foot of Death Mountain, is now the largest and most cosmopolitan settlement, save for The Fortress. A boiling pot of races and ideologies, and often the fertile ground for most Ganondorf resitances, it is ruled by a semi-Gerudo-independent councl.
-The Fortress is a city built around a great arena, and located in the dried up Lake Hyrule. It is the largest Gerudo controlled settlement. The heart of Ganondorf’s empire.
-To the west lies the “free” nation of the Twili (see Twili entry for more).
